The girls of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Udham Singh Nagar participated in Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex Inter School Chess Championship held at BCM Sr. Sec. School, Basant City on 19th and 20th January, 2018 and brought laurels by clinching third position in u-17 age group. Deepti Sharma, Kirti Dawar, Niharika Arora and Siya Sharma practiced really hard under the guidance of Mr. Baljeet Singh Gill (Sports teacher). Exhibiting their best mental skills, the girls secured the third position. Following their footsteps Mehak, Bhoomi, Prachi Rawat, Ruhani and Yashika also showcased their sportsmanship and sharpness and got a thunderous applause in u-14 category. All the participants were appreciated and felicitated today by the revered Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi during the morning assembly. She said, “Sports and games teach the virtue of obeying laws, respecting the rights of others, imbibing moral values of fair playing and making the students good human beings”. The worthy members of BVM Trust applauded the efforts of the Physical Education Department and also encouraged other students to participate in games enthusiastically.
